Student Radio Show

My radio show goes on for 25 minutes and is aimed at students for Central Sussex College. All the songs are hit radio songs as that is the target for students. There are 7 songs within my radio show all chosen from hit songs and put in a carefully thought out order.
I started with a bright song and ended with a bold song as this is one of the techniques that make a successful radio show. For example I started with "Spectrum By Florance and the Machine ft Calvin Harris" and ended with "Bad by The Cab". I chose to start with Spectrum because its a happy up-beat song to get the show started. I ended with Bad because the song is well known.
I used 3 cross overs within my radio show because the songs were quiet at the beginning and end so by joining up the songs you loose a long gap and the lyrics aren't interlinked so it sounds good. An example is "Feel the love by Rudimental" ending as "Black Heart by Stooshe" starts. I also turned the volume down at the end/ beginning of the songs so it builds up. I did this because it would introduce the songs as separate yet the two songs flow nicely.
On a few songs I cut the ending or beginning off to get rid of a long pause between finishing and starting a song. An example of this is the beginning of "Titanium by David Guetta" because the beginning is a very long build up to the song so I cut off the beginning and gradually made the sound gradually increase.
To conclude, I think I did really well and used all the techniques I was taught. I'm proud of my radio show because it was my first time making one and I achieved my goal to make a radio show aimed at students. This radio show wouldn't apply to adults because the music isn't aimed at their generation and the techniques I have used wouldn't be used as often. For example I wouldn't have used as many cross overs, I may have only used 1 every half hour instead of 3. I would always start with a bright song and end with a strong song whether it was for adults or teenagers because that technique is for all radio stations.
